➢ Came into Effect- It came into effect from December 1, 2018. The scheme was officially launched on 24th February,2019 from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, launched by our Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

 ➢ Objective of the Scheme –

• The scheme aims to supplement the financial needs of the farmers in procuring various inputs to ensure proper crop health and appropriate yields, commensurate with the anticipated farm income at the end of each crop cycle.

 • This would also protect them from falling in the clutches of money-lenders for meeting such expenses and ensure their continuance in farming activities. 

➢ Salient Features of the Scheme – The important features and highlights of PM KISAN Scheme: 

• All the small and marginal farmers will get Rs. 6,000 per year. 

• All farmers are eligible for PM KISAN YOJANA irrespective of their land holding. 

• The assistance amount would be given through direct cash transfer and would be credited directly into the bank accounts of the farmers.

 • Central Government will give this PM KISAN Scheme amount in a single year in 3 equal installments of Rs. 2,000 each. 

• PM Farmers Income Support Scheme will be fully funded by the central government and it will add a burden of around Rs. 75,000 crore on the government’s pocket. 

• PM KISAN SAMMAN NIDHI Yojana 2022 is going to benefit around 14.5 crore small and marginal farmers.

➢ Who is Eligible for this Scheme –

• Under this scheme, all landholder farmers’ families are eligible to obtain the benefits. 

• The landholder farmers’ family is defined under the scheme guidelines as a family consisting of a husband, wife and minor children who own cultivable land as per the land records of the respective State or UT. The existing land ownership system is used for identifying the beneficiaries.

➢ Exclusion Category for this Scheme – Following are the categories of higher economic status which are not eligible under this scheme :

• All the Institutional Land holders. 

• Those farmer families which belong to one or more of the below categories – 

▪ Formal and Present holder of constitutional posts.

 ▪ Present and Formal State Ministers, Ministers, Members of Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha, Chairpersons of District Panchayats, Mayors of Municipal Corporations, State Legislative Assemblies or State Legislative Councils. 

▪ All retired and serving officers and employees of Central or State Government Ministries/ Offices/ Departments and its field units, Central or State PSEs and Attached Offices or autonomous Institutions under Government and regular employees of the local bodies. (Excluding Group D employees/ Class IV/ Multi- Tasking Staff) 

▪ Every Superannuated/ retired pensioner whose monthly pension is Rs. 10,000 and above. (Excluding Multi -Tasking Staff/ Group D employees of above category/ Class IV) 

▪ Those persons who paid Income Tax in last assessment year. 

▪ Professionals like Engineers, Chartered Accountants, Lawyers, Doctors and Architects registered with Professional bodies and carrying out profession by undertaking practices.

➢ PM KISAN 11th Installment Released –

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Tuesday, May 31, released the 11th Installment of the PRADHAN MANTRI KISAN SAMMAN NIDHI or PM KISAN to over 10 crore beneficiary farmer families. Notably, the 11th installment of PM KISAN SAMMAN NIDHI, worth Rs. 21,000 crore released by PM at the ‘Garib Kalyan Sammelan ‘ in Shimla as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. 

 After the release of the PM kisan 11th installment, farmers will get a sum of Rs. 2,000 each from the govt. as part of the annual scheme.

➢ How to check PM- KISAN Installment –

• Go to the official website, pmkisan.gov.in

• Now, look ‘Farmers Corner’ section at the homepage. 

• Click on ‘Beneficiary Status’ option. Here, the beneficiary can check his/her application status. The list will have the Farmers’ name and the amount sent to his/her bank account. 

• Next, enter either Aadhaar Number or Account Number or Mobile Number.

• Click on ‘Get Data’. The status of the installment will be displayed on the screen.

• Go to Farmers’ Corner. 

• Click on the beneficiary list. 

• Select your State, District, Sub-District, Block and Village.

• Next, Tap on Get Report. 

➢ How to Register for PM KISAN SAMMAN NIDHI Yojana – 

• Visit to the official website, pmkisan.gov. 

• Click on the Farmers’ Corner option.

• Next, click on ‘New Registration’. 

• Enter your details such as Aadhaar NO., Captcha code etc. 

• Then, click on the submit button.

➢ PM KISAN Mobile App Registration – Farmers can also download PMKISAN mobile app from google play-store and registered themselves. Process of registration- 

• Open the PMKISAN mobile app, select your language, then click on NEW FARMER REGISTRATION. 

• Enter Aadhaar Card NO. Captcha then click on continue button. 

• Fill your details like name, bank details etc. and click on SUBMIT button.

 Ans. In case of incorrect declaration, the beneficiary shall be liable for recovery of transferred financial benefit and other penal actions as per law.

 Ans. Yes. The details given at the time of registration can be changed or changed.

Go to the PM-KISAN portal, Find the Farmers’ Corner, then click on the ‘Updation of Self Registered Farmer’ button. The ‘Edit Self Registered Farmer Details’ page will open. Now enter the Aadhaar NO. and Captcha, then click on the ’Search’ button and edit the information.
